Engr. Nimot A. Muili, FNSE, FINEE, PMP is the current Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ikeja Branch, and the third woman to occupy this position in the Branch’s history. A COREN-registered Civil Engineer, Lead Auditor for ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 Environmental and Quality Management Systems, and PMI-certified Project Management Professional, she brings over 18 years of consultancy and leadership experience across West Africa and beyond. She has collaborated with diverse, multidisciplinary teams to deliver the design, supervision, and management of transformative infrastructure projects.

Her career reflects a unique blend of technical excellence and social impact. She contributed to Africa’s largest Output and Performance Road Contract (OPRC) in Liberia — a $167M World Bank–funded, 180 km road project — serving as Quality Control Engineer. As a lead engineer and project manager, she has overseen multidisciplinary teams delivering multi-million-dollar industrial facilities, renewable energy strategies, urban regeneration initiatives, and resilient city frameworks. She has also led gender-focused socio-economic research to expand educational and livelihood opportunities for marginalized women and girls in Nigeria.

A strong advocate for sustainable development, Engr. Muili has contributed to global research on low-carbon construction, embodied carbon, and urban resilience. Her published works include peer-reviewed journal articles, technical papers presented at NSE and APWEN conferences, and thought leadership on sustainability, environmental security, and local content innovation. She has represented Nigeria at prestigious international platforms such as the Global Engineering Congress (UK), the Society of Women Engineers Conference (USA), and professional gatherings in Ghana and Liberia.

Her professional service is equally distinguished. She served as the 5th Chairman of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), Lagos Chapter, and has held several leadership roles within NSE including Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and Committees Chair. At the national level, she contributes to the NSE National Infrastructure Scorecard Committee, as well as the Strategic Partnerships and Strategic Document Committees, shaping national discourse on infrastructure and policy.

Deeply passionate about capacity building, she has mentored over 2K+ students, championed STEM outreach programs across Nigeria and abroad, and forged partnerships that created thousands of local jobs in rural communities. She is also a co-founder of social enterprise startups advancing climate action and continues to champion innovation, resilience, and inclusive growth in engineering.

Her contributions have earned her numerous awards and commendations from NSE, APWEN, and international professional bodies.

Engr. Muili is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (FINEE), and an active member of several professional associations globally. She represents a new generation of engineering leadership — combining technical expertise, strategic foresight, and an unwavering commitment to people-centered development.
