Dear esteemed colleagues,
Indeed, nothing is more reassuring for us than continuing to enjoy the backing of our highly esteemed elders, which has largely been our lot on many fronts since the assumption of office of the current Executive Committee.
And it was again demonstrated today, February 18, 2021, at our visits to Tower Alloys Industries Ltd. and the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) where we had 8 Fellows of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and distinguished leaders of our noble profession including 3-time Past Vice President, Engr. Margaret Oguntala FNSE; Past President of APWEN, Engr. Idiat Amusu FNSE; Past National Chairman NIEEE, Engr. Bolanle Odetokun FNSE; Past National Chairman NICE, Engr. S. A. Lawal FNSE; Current National Chairman NIEE, Engr. OES Ajani FNSE; Past National ExCo Member, Engr. Akintayo Akintola FNSE; and Past Branch Standing Committee Chairman, Engr. Ganiyu Owolabi FNSE.

On behalf of the ExCo, I say a very big THANK YOU for your continued commitment to sustaining a viable Engineering culture in the “Branch to beat”.
Many thanks also to ExCo members who were on hand, namely the General Secretary, Engr. Bayo Majonagbe; the Treasurer, Engr. Iyiola Olaoye; the Financial Secretary, Engr. Tajudeen Ibrahim FNSE; and Ex-Officio, Engr. Femi Adedotun.
Very sincere appreciation to all other members who completed the very robust delegation in the persons of Engr. Oluwaniyi, Engr. Adeyeye, Engr. Olubowale, Engr. Tanimowo, Engr. Soladoye, Engr. Dawodu, Engr. Gbotoso, Engr. Joshua David and Engr. Ebelema while not forgetting our Secretariat staffers, Deji & Kemi who were the go-to persons on the trip.
Furthermore, we appreciate our elders who acknowledged the invitation and made plans to attend but were unavoidably unable to join us for the visits as well as those who sent in their apologies.
It was a very warm welcome at both locations and it’s instructive to note that both visits only opened up follow up visits to both organizations to concretize the subjects of deliberations during the visits, which culminated in the setup of a bipartite working group between the Branch and the NRC on Local Content Materials development for the Maintenance of both the locomotives and the rail tracks.
These are veritable opportunities for us as a Branch towards the realization of our objectives and we remain committed to pursuing them to logical conclusions for the benefits of all.
Once again, a very big THANK YOU to everyone who was a part of the epoch-making visits.
Kind regards.
Engr. Tosin Ogunmola
